Stairs of Progress

by Kathryn Bowden

In this quilt, women’s progress is portrayed by the ascent of stairs built upon the framework established by the generations before us. However, progress is rarely linear; sometimes we need to go down in order to go up. Therefore, these stairs represent the numerous paths women have taken to make achievements over the century in the face of adversity. Keep climbing, sisters!
